The Farmer's House
The Farmer's House is just that; an historic farmhouse, and a little gem of heritage nestled in a growing urban locale. Built in 1912, the house sits on what was then the outskirts of the city, where the streetcar looped back to downtown.
In 2014, owner Margie Hope parked her foodtruck (Blam!wich) and set about creating a new and familiar restaurant destination in the heart of Marda Loop.
Our vision is to offer comfort with simply prepared, delicious food in the warm and friendly atmosphere of The Farmer’s House. You'll often see children enjoying a pizza while parents relax and sip a glass of wine. Seniors come for tea and a treat or a leisurely lunch. Sun seekers flock to the south-facing patio. Business people come for lunch or meetings in the private dining room. Neighbours walk from home when they don't feel like cooking.
The Farmer's House is a place for family and friends to gather... around the table.
